Advanced Linguistics for Asian and European Languages Enhances Enterprise Search Appliance and Embeddable Search Engine
CAMBRIDGE, MA and OREM, UT--(Marketwire - Jun 22, 2011) - Basis Technology and Perfect Search Corp. today announced a partnership to integrate Basis Technology's industry-leading Rosette® Linguistics Platform into Perfect Search's high-performance, enterprise search products to improve search results in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, French, Italian, and German.
Perfect Search is using Rosette to segment Chinese, Japanese, and Korean documents -- which are normally written without spaces between words -- into words, reducing the number of incorrect results and decreasing search index size for improved speed. For European languages, language-specific lemmatization (retrieving the dictionary form of words) and decompounding compound words in German and Korean increases the number of relevant results returned without increasing unrelated search results.
